Sauna Pekanbaru · Duri · Dumai

Sauna builder in Pekanbaru for homes, gyms and camp facilities

We build permanent timber cabins with imported heaters, not sweat suits or pop-up steam tents. Fabricated, installed and serviced by a local team, from wide-plot houses in Panam to camp club houses on the Duri road.

Sauna Pekanbaru is a sauna builder in Pekanbaru working for private houses, gyms, physiotherapy clinics and plantation facilities: dry saunas, infrared cabins, steam rooms and ice baths with a chiller. A four-person home sauna at 2×2 m is indicatively IDR 60–120 million and takes two to four weeks on site. Our workshop is in Marpoyan Damai; we cover the whole city plus Duri and Dumai.

The details that keep a cabin alive in Riau

A wall build-up that beats mould

Panel, 50 mm rockwool, aluminium foil vapour barrier, a 20 mm vented gap, then cedar. Leave out the foil or the gap and a Riau cabin is black in the corners within two or three years.

Power sized off your meter, not a brochure

Heat-resistant SiHF cable, a dedicated breaker and an ELCB for every heater. Newer Panam clusters already carry 7,700–11,000 VA; older houses either upgrade or take infrared at 1.7–2.4 kW.

Chillers rated for 29 °C tap water

Mains and borehole water arrives warm here. We size a ½–1 HP plunge chiller from tank volume, room temperature and user numbers, so it holds 3–15 °C all afternoon.

The right timber in the right place

Western red cedar, Scandinavian spruce or thermowood inside, aspen or abachi benches. Ulin and bengkirai only for outdoor decking, and every outdoor sauna cabin gets a roof.

Why a sauna makes sense in a city this warm

Pekanbaru sits two degrees off the equator and reads 30–34 °C by day at 80–90 % humidity, so the first thing clients ask is why anyone would want more heat. The answer is the order you use it in. A cold plunge belongs to the morning, straight after a session at one of the gyms on Jalan Sudirman or a run round the stadium; the dry sauna belongs to the evening, once the outside air has dropped to 24–25 °C and the body will actually let go. Used that way round, both get more use here than they would in a cool climate.

Then there is the haze. From June to September, fires in the peat and the plantations push Riau's air readings into the unhealthy band for days at a time, and outdoor training simply stops. A cabin and a plunge inside the house give you a recovery routine that does not depend on what is happening outside the window; the cabin can draw its supply air from an air-conditioned room rather than from the yard.

The houses help too. Palm oil, refining and oilfield service money built wide plots in Panam and Marpoyan Damai, 200–400 m² with a side terrace or a flat roof doing nothing, and the newer clusters were wired generously at 7,700–11,000 VA rather than the 2,200 VA of an older Sukajadi house. Add the plantation guest houses and staff messes out towards Duri, where a tired club-house cabin is often already sitting in a corner, and there is more work in Riau than the market assumes. Figures for every size are on our Pekanbaru price list.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a home sauna cost in Pekanbaru?

Indicatively: a custom 2×2 m cabin for four people is IDR 60–120 million, an economy build in mixed materials starts at IDR 40 million, an infrared cabin for one or two is IDR 30–70 million, and a wooden cold plunge with a chiller is IDR 45–90 million. Installation inside the city is included. The full sheet is on the price list.

My house is on 5,500 VA. Can I still have a sauna?

Yes, by one of two routes. An infrared sauna draws 1.7–2.4 kW and runs on that supply untouched. Otherwise apply to PLN for an upgrade to 7,700 VA, paid by the owner, and take a 6 kW four-person cabin. A 3.6 kW two-person cabin also fits 5,500 VA if the air conditioning in that room is off while the heater runs.

Do you build outdoor sauna cabins?

We do, and a roofed cabin on a side terrace is one of the most common requests in Panam and Rumbai. Outdoor builds get a proper roof against rain and UV, a raised base, hardwood decking and stainless fixings. Indicative price IDR 80–150 million, one to two weeks on site. See custom and outdoor saunas.

Do you cover Duri and Dumai?

Yes. Duri is two to three hours away on the toll road and Dumai about three, and we group surveys there into a weekly run. For camps and messes on generator supply we write the load, soft start and ELCB requirements into the quote rather than leaving them as a footnote.

Is this the same thing as a sauna tent sold online?

No. What sells online for a couple of hundred thousand rupiah is a steam tent or a plastic sweat suit. We build a room: insulated timber walls, tiered benches, tempered glass and an imported heater on stones taking the air to 70–90 °C. The most compact version we make is a prefab cabin.

What happens after installation?

Two years of structural warranty from us, one to two years of factory warranty on the heater. Our technicians sit in Marpoyan Damai with Harvia and Sawo spares in stock, so an element change never waits on a shipment from Java.
