What actually goes into a turnkey Pekanbaru steam room?

Everything from bare wall inward. We gut the space, tank it fully, pitch the floor toward a drain, build the ceiling with a deliberate slope so condensate runs down the walls instead of onto your head, tile the whole thing in mosaic, fit the bench, tempered glass door and lighting, then install and commission the generator with its own water feed and drain. What you get is a finished room — not a generator bolted into someone else's bathroom.

A home installation usually lands at 2×2 m, seating three or four; a gym or hotel wet area runs bigger, with a heavier generator and a faster drain to match. This is the wettest thing on our list, so the real quality sits in the waterproofing behind the mosaic, where nobody will ever look — and where a shortcut job only announces itself two rainy seasons later, as a damp patch on the far side of the wall.

Why steam works for this climate and these gyms

People who cannot stand dry heat often take to steam instead. At 40–45 °C the air feels soft rather than sharp, breathing stays comfortable, and fifteen minutes leaves you loose instead of wrung out. That distinction matters here, in a city already sitting at 80–90 % ambient humidity — the draw is the warmth and the ritual, not a shock to the system. Commercially, this is what fills a wet zone. Generator, water supply and the electrics behind it

A 2×2 m room runs on a 6–9 kW generator, which puts it in the same electrical class as a mid-size dry cabin: 7,700–11,000 VA, SiHF cable, a dedicated breaker and an ELCB. Bigger commercial rooms step up to three phase. As with every build, the PLN upgrade is filed and paid for by the owner, and we time commissioning for after that new supply actually goes live.

Water is where the extra work sits. The generator wants a clean feed and its own drain, and Pekanbaru's borehole water is often hard enough to scale a tank quickly, so we fit a filter and set the descaling schedule at handover rather than waiting for something to fail.
