What makes a custom sauna worth the extra in Pekanbaru?

The standard cabin is a good product; a custom sauna answers a room. A wide plot in Panam with a shaded courtyard wants a glass front so the cabin reads as part of the garden. A converted downstairs bathroom in Marpoyan Damai wants a low door and a bench run that fits under a beam. A club house on a plantation estate wants a cabin that seats a whole shift and takes a decade of hard use. In all three cases we start from a measured survey and a visualisation, not a size chart.

The visible choices are where the money goes: an 8 mm tempered glass wall, thermowood or wide-board cedar cladding, a backlit stone or slat panel behind the heater, aspen bench fronts with concealed lighting, and a heater with a digital controller you can start from your phone on the way home. Two glass walls look superb and demand a bigger heater, which we price openly rather than discovering later. A custom sauna in Indonesia still has to obey tropical physics, so none of that changes the insulated, foiled and vented wall behind the cladding.

Where does an outdoor sauna cabin work best in Riau?

Outdoors is popular here because the plots allow it. A roofed outdoor sauna cabin on a rear terrace in Panam or on the river side of a house in Rumbai takes the heat and the noise out of the house entirely and pairs naturally with a cold plunge two steps away. The rules are strict: a real roof with an overhang against driving rain and UV, a raised base so the timber never sits in standing water, ulin or bengkirai decking, stainless fixings, and a covered path so nobody crosses wet tiles barefoot at night.

Power, controls and what happens to your PLN supply

Bigger cabins mean bigger heaters, and this is the honest part of the conversation. Six people at 8 kW wants an 11,000 VA supply; eight people at 9 kW the same; ten and twelve-person cabins at 10.5–12 kW move to a three-phase connection. Many of the newer large houses in Panam and Tenayan Raya already sit at 7,700–11,000 VA, so the upgrade is often a formality; older properties around Sudirman and Sukajadi usually need a PLN application, which the owner submits and pays for.

Whatever the size, the electrical work is the same standard: SiHF heat-resistant cable from the board, a dedicated breaker, an ELCB, a stainless heater guard and a test with the ELCB tripped in front of you before handover.
